Lee Strobel obviously researched the theories both supporting and countering the existence and divinity of Jesus.
Jesus obviously believed the OT was worthwhile, the word of God, something ell had no intention of doing away with. He “challenges” a number of experts in theology with “hard hitting questions”, but once they provide answers to his queries he just leaves it at that, exclaiming “oh my gosh, that’s so true!
Which, as a Christian, is frustrating.
However, by preserving stories and allowing them to be mostly unchanged for nearly 2, years, while it is quite impressive, does not make the literature true. But the point is this: Strobel and those he talks to focus so heavily on the New Testament.
But those with unclouded reason will recognize the quick insufficiency of Strobel’s conclusions. Just like the Iliad by Homer was preserved for thousands of years, it does not increase the validity of the story. However, I found that most of the countering theories were dismissed in such a superficial way that I ac This book was not what I expected.

I This was a pretty decent piece of newspaper-style investigation on Christ. I can’t decide if Strobel’s really that bad of an investigative reporter, or if he’s simply content with the answers he’s found and pleased to let everything else be. While, as I’ve written before, Strobel’s expert witnesses offer useful information about interpreting scripture, Strobel did a surprisingly poor job at choosing the expert witnesses for his allegorical court case.
Also, his journalistic style feels very “dumbed down” and annoys me no end. Books by Lee Strobel.
In pursuing this creasor so openly, Strobel has made me suspicious that he is obfuscating the truth, perhaps himself having fallen victim to extreme confirmation bias. Whilst Strobel may have found his answers, my journey to understand the phenomenon of religion continues, this book having raised far more questions than it has answered.
Nobody would have talked about it anyway, they were so used to Herod doing even worse things! But without missing a beat, he then launches into an explanation that amounts to but we accept church tradition lse history, so don’t sweat it.

The reasoning is very unclear in a number of places. Where were the Five Hundred’s? For me, reading about physics has taken me further in believing in difficult-to-believe phenomena than this book cteador. Now, I believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and I accept Strobel Every once in a while there are true crime books written by the defense team of the accused, presenting the case for their client’s innocence, but which in fact only present a one-sided view that is easily refuted if one has the full range of evidence.
