The Malcador Defender is a variant of the venerable Malcador Assault Tank design. It is not widely used by Imperial armed forces at the present time and is in . My Malcador is now built. I just need to magnetise the sponsons and paint it. This list should its first outing on Tuesday, December 6th. It will be. be as in depth as it could be with turn-by-then rolls. Oh yeah, it also mounts a Demolisher Cannon in its forward hull. Even though it looks goofy, and still has an unreliable engine, this design choice makes it the only tank stronger in the rear than in the front, leaving it less vulnerable to deep-striking assault troops. The tank retains the original’s sponson-mounted weapons but like the Malcador Annihilator it replaces the hull-mounted Heavy Bolter with a Demolisher Cannon. While perfectly serviceable in its normal roles the engine is underpowered in relation to the Malcador’s size and weight and can be more easily knocked out by enemy fire. It probably would have been a better idea to put this configuration on a Macharius Heavy Tank instead, though.
So while they still have certainly not dethroned the Leman Russ as the lord and master of Imperial armor, taking them is now actually a valid tactic. The Malcador Annihilator was originally conceived as a field modification carried out on battle-damaged or unfinished production hulls intended to “up-gun” the tank’s weaponry and extend its battlefield utility.

When the tech-priests realized that they had run out of room for fuel tanks, they decided to put them in a trailer towed behind defendeer tank.
While well-armed and durable the tank does suffer from several limitations. Some Tech-priest thought it would be a good idea to take a Malcador chassis though it could be based on what appears to be an earlier variant, or the original chassis design and mount two Earthshaker cannons on it.
Posted By Jake — 8th December ‘ Due to the nature of its armaments, it is well-suited to close-quarters combat, trench warfare and urban warfare engagements. I guess it has sponsons now? I did three wounds and they failed two of their saves! The Malcador is really survivable though its stood up to a fire Lascannon hits a Melta Bomb charge. It is more common in many Imperial armouries than the standard heavy tank upon which it is based.
The turret was given five heavy bolterseach of which covers a roughly degree arc, so the tank can shoot at least one and up to two heavy bolters at anything in any direction in addition to the sponson weapons–lascannons, heavy stubbers, heavy flamers or autocannons. Views Read Edit View history.

The Malcador ‘Annihilator’ is thought to be a field refit of battle-damaged or incomplete Malcadors, replacing the Battle Cannon with twin-linked Lascannons and the hull-mounted Heavy Bolter with a Demolisher Cannon. The tank mounts a massive Inferno Gun in its hull and tows a large fuel trailer behind it, where promethium is stored as separate chemicals before being mixed together in a chamber just behind the gun’s barrel.
The only advantages that this tank has are that its rear armor is slightly better and that it can soak a few more hits since it’s a heavy tank.

My arms ached from the fist pumping after that! Ironically, if one dfeender to replace the top casemate with an actual turret like the one on the Russuse the alternate box sponsons the Valdor and Infernus use and fix the engine, the Malcador would become a perfectly serviceable Malcaor Tank for the Guard, becoming the Panzer IV to the Russes Panzer III.
Roll them into your fortified gun line, let their forward mounted weapon savage the enemy, and with Lady Luck and Admiral Awesome on your side, your Malcadors and any supporting forces will peel back to another fortified position before devender enemy can dish out too much retaliation.
